• Q: WHO IS SKIN NEEDLING FOR?

Skin needling is used for facial rejuvenation and to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin tone, texture, and pigmentation. Skin Needling is also used to minimise the appearance of scars from acne including pitted scarring, surgery, thermal burns, chickenpox, or trauma of the skin.

• Q: HOW DOES SKIN NEEDLING WORK?

Skin Needling is preformed by safely penetrating the skin using tiny micro needles which produce a controlled skin injury without actually damaging the epidermis. This triggers the skin to heal and produce new skin leading to the appearance of smoother, firmer more toned skin with regular treatments. 

• Q: IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME AFTER TREATMENT?

Skin Needling can cause dryness, scaling, redness and swelling may be seen after treatment. On average the majority of downtime resides within 1-2 days however can last for several days. Treatments are recommended a minimum of 4-6 weeks apart. We recommend an LED heal light treatment directly after your skin needling procedure to speed up the skins healing process. You can add this to your skin needling appointment at the time of booking.

• Q: DO I NEED ANY AFTERCARE?

Our trained specialist will discuss all aftercare with you at the time of your appointment including tips and tricks to speed up your healing process. You will feel tightness in the skin directly after treatment and you will have redness in the skin that will appear like a sunburn. To highlight, we recommend avoiding direct sunlight on the treated area after skin needling, wear SPF while in the sun for a number of weeks after treatment. Avoid any other facial treatments including waxing or laser hair removal on the treated area for a minimum of 1-2 weeks. Avoid exercise, sauna or swimming pools for 24-48 hours. Keep skin clean and free from any AHA, BHA or Vitamin A products for 48 hours before and after your appointment. We also advise to keep the skin free from makeup for a minimum of 24-48 hours after treatment. 

• Q: HOW OFTEN DO I NEED A TREATMENT?

We recommend having this treatment done a minimum of 4-6 weeks apart, discuss your priorities with us to determine how many treatments is needed to achieve the results you want.
